Meet the Coaches

Chris Probert
Chris Probert is the visionary Founder and Program Director of Alpine Racing Collective (ARC), an organization that has quickly become a leader in developing elite athletes and fostering a vibrant, cohesive team culture. His coaching approach is deeply rooted in the biomechanical methodologies of Harold Harb’s “PMTS” teaching system, which serves as the foundation for ARC’s commitment to technical precision and excellence. These teachings are consistently implemented across the coaching staff, ensuring a unified and effective coaching methodology.

Under Chris’s leadership, ARC achieved the rare distinction of earning US Ski and Snowboard’s Bronze Podium club status in less than six months—an accomplishment that typically takes even established clubs several years to attain. This milestone is a testament to the strength of ARC’s program and its unwavering commitment to developing athletes who excel both on and off the slopes.

Chris’s vision for ARC has been more than 13 years in the making. Through his leadership, ARC has forged key partnerships, introduced cutting-edge training programs, and created a supportive environment where athletes are empowered to thrive. His dedication to creating pathways for young racers to succeed in both competitive skiing and life is at the core of ARC’s mission.

Foreste Peterson
Foreste Leadis the ARC Strength and Conditioning Programing. Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Foreste grew up as an alpine ski racer at what’s now Palisades Tahoe. She qualified for the national team at age 16 and was on the Nor-Am and Europa Cup team from 2011-2014. She went on to attend and ski for Dartmouth College from 2015-2018, where she studied Environmental Studies. Foreste raced her first World Cups as a senior in college and continued to race at the Nor-Am to World Cup level for 2 more years post college for an independent women’s team based here in Park City. She transitioned to coaching when COVID hit and simultaneously went back to school to receive a Master’s in Applied Exercise Science. After four years as a full-time on-hill coach and having spent the last two seasons with the U.S. Ski Team Women’s Alpine Nor-Am team, she recently pivoted within the organization to become an Athletic Development coach for the Women’s Europa Cup Speed, Europa Cup Tech and Nor-Am teams. Foreste is passionate about creating holistic, well-rounded strength and conditioning programs to help athletes reach their potential, on and off the mountain. Outside of work, Foreste loves traveling to new destinations, exotic foods, mountain biking, mountain running, and of course all things related to skiing and ski racing.

Dave Baker
Dave is passionate about sport and sharing his passion through coaching by creating inclusive, positive learning environments. Growing up in Maryland, Dave started his sports career playing lacrosse at age 4. He played lacrosse and tennis at the collegiate level, later coaching college lacrosse. Dave has a diverse background coaching multiple sports at all age groups, which gives him the tools and understanding to relate to most athletes.
Dave discovered his love of skiing in high school where he would drive two hours to his “local” hill every weekend. He became a PSIA ski instructor in Pennsylvania in 2009. His family moved to Utah from the east coast for the mountain life and to ski the greatest snow on Earth. At Snowbasin, Dave served as a ski instructor, then coached the Alpine Development Team, and was invited to coach the C Team for the Snowbasin Sport Education Foundation. Dave continuously works to level up his knowledge of skiing fundamentals and alpine racing; he is always excited to share what he’s learned. With a degree in sport management, Dave also appreciates the administrative side of running a sports organization.
Off snow, you can find Dave mountain biking, golfing, and still playing lacrosse.

Kate Brogden
Kate joins the Alpine Racing Collective (ARC) in the 2024/25 season, bringing a passion for skiing and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. Originally from Connecticut, Kate began ski racing as a high school freshman with no prior experience but quickly became the top racer on her team and the number one high school skier in the state. Her dedication took her to train in Austria and Mt. Hood, where she sharpened her technical skills. Kate went on to compete for the University of Colorado's developmental team in slalom and giant slalom for three years, all while earning a master’s degree in accounting.
Kate’s personal journey in skiing taught her the value of hard work, perseverance, and the power of a supportive team. She is eager to share this experience with ARC athletes, whether they’re just starting or already experienced. With a focus on fostering confidence, teamwork, and the belief that anything is possible through effort, Kate looks forward to helping the next generation of racers reach their full potential.
Kate, her husband Rad, and their three daughters, Ellie, Caroline, and Whitney, relocated to Midway, UT in 2023 to embrace a life in the mountains. As a family, they are excited to be part of the vibrant ARC community, ready to ski and explore as much as possible—along with their newest addition, a black lab puppy.

Brittany Probert
Brittany Probert is entering her second year as a coach for the U8 athletes at Alpine Racing Collective (ARC), bringing over 13 years of invaluable experience as a dedicated ski racing parent. A passionate advocate for early athletic development, Brittany is a student of PMTS (Primary Movements Teaching System) fundamental teachings, which guide her coaching philosophy focused on building strong technical foundations from the ground up.

As the owner and leader of Advanced Behavior Analysis, Brittany specializes in developing individualized plans to support positive behavioral change, a skillset that aligns perfectly with coaching young athletes. Her deep understanding of behavior, learning patterns, and motivation allows her to nurture the mental and emotional growth of ARC athletes, helping them not only achieve success on the slopes but also develop confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset.

Brittany’s approach is rooted in her belief that every young athlete has the potential to thrive when supported by a positive environment, clear communication, and consistent reinforcement of good habits. Her dual roles as a leader in behavioral science and a U8 coach create a unique synergy, enabling her to tailor her coaching style to meet the individual needs of each athlete, ensuring that they have a fun and enriching experience with ARC.

Outside of coaching, Brittany continues to support her children’s racing journeys and is deeply committed to the ski racing community. Her experience as a parent and professional makes her a pivotal part of the ARC team, where she strives to inspire the next generation of athletes.

Malia Camens
Malia grew up in the Adirondacks and started skiing as soon as she could walk. In search of better snow than what "Ice Face" (White Face, NY) could offer, her family started venturing westward for skiing holidays. Her love of the Rockies had begun early and culminated in her family moving to Utah almost five years ago.
Malia played every sport she could find growing up from golf and soccer to surfing and rock climbing, though skiing remained the love of her life. Now having two children in Alpine Racing, she has turned her attention to fostering their love of this intense and addictive sport.
She and her family were captivated by Chris' vision and dedication to creating a new breed of racing team and has evolved from an early adopter to now Assistant Coaching for ARC. She brings her passion for skiing and a desire to integrate other modalities to create a better experience for the athletes. In this role, she draws on her ability to convey movement patterns and develop strength and balance as a Pilates Instructor as well as her insatiable appetite to learn and implement cutting edge techniques and ideas. Most importantly, she is excited to help the amazing ARC athletes achieve new heights (and speeds!) and foster the incredible life skills that this competitive and challenging sport provides.
